We received the following correspondence from Paul Kupchok of Green Chimneys today:
With a heavy heart I am emailing you to let you know that we are canceling Bird of Prey Day due to avian flu. It has been brought to our attention that the bird flu has been found in NY and other surrounding states. It is with an abundance of caution that we made this decision. We do not want to risk the health of our raptors and all the other farm birds on our educational farm along with all the other birds that are brought to our campus by falconers from the tri-state area.

This was not an easy choice, but we applaud Paul and his crew for putting the health of raptors first - as it should be.
