Conservation

The New York State Falconry Association is dedicated to the conservation of raptors, their habitat, the habitat of their prey species, and all connected parts of the ecosystem. To that end, we support various initiatives to help raise public awareness of ongoing issues in the conservation field.

Sometimes this takes the form of partnering with organizations, or our members volunteering at them. It may mean working with rehabilitators to provide long-term physical therapy to injured raptors. It may also mean participating in migratory raptor counts, or DEC initiatives. There are many ways for the public and associate or non-licensed falconers to participate in raptor conservation!

This section is not exhaustive, but merely an overview of some of the initiatives we are working with currently, and some methods for you to get involved.
